Welcome to the CGC Group! You can connect with other members, get updates and share content: research, ideas, code, and anything else of interest about the Story of CGC We're here to build the world's first data science tool that (1) quantifies travel cost alternatives for individual trips, and (2) allows the travelling user to anonymously describe (or qualify) their mode-choice decision.
So it's currently Esri ArcGIS Server 10.7.1 being utilized (for the server object extension -- SOE) to provide the ArcMap-based service endpoints that quantify travel cost alternatives. I've recently learned that the Network Analyst extension, used therein, is not supported beyond ArcGIS Server 10.9.1. On the way toward migrating the SOE to ArcGIS Pro Runtime and the Enterprise SDK (great Esri blog -- https://www.esri.com/arcgis-blog/products/arcgis-enterprise/announcements/migrating-arcobjects-soes-and-sois-to-arcgis-enterprise-sdk/) ,,, I'm informed there is a Network Analysis/Routing Service that can be used to basically replace Network Analyst routing functions (documentation -- https://developers.arcgis.com/rest/services-reference/enterprise/route-sync-services.htm). It returns a solved path in JSON or HTML format, and I'm trying to figure out how that can be consumed by an SOE. Has anyone ever used this Routing Service ?

Hello! Thanks for joining this tiny startup R&D group, Femi! There has been significant progress behind the scenes, starting with the verified method for working with the Esri Network Analyst Routing Service in SOE code. Whether or not the CGC app stays with Esri-based technology, I'll soon post these steps for request/response handling which can be instrumental in building out a linear referencing system on both editing and publishing geodatabases. Also, I'm working on grant funding for this project and the company portfolio. The startup is only a year old and I'll try to make more frequent updates here about Commute GeoCalculator, the first project within the first program of the company portfolio. I have not begun screening members yet. We're on an honor system for the time being, and I welcome your serious interest, inquiry and comments. There is much to discuss, here. I have a lot of information forthcoming and hopefully the whole endeavor will begin to make sense within the next few weeks.
